ARCHAX is a giant controllable humanoid robot, created by the Japanese company Tsubame Industry.
This giant robot is 4.5 meters tall and weighs about 3.5 tons, can switch from standing mode to driving mode like Autobot, reaching a maximum speed of 10 km / h. This machine is powered by a 300V battery and has a cockpit for human control inside.
ARCHAX costs around 400 million yen (.75 million – more than VND 65 billion) and will hit the market in about a year.
The main frame of ARCHAX is made of iron and aluminum alloy, while the outer shell is mainly made of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic).
There are 26 different cameras mounted throughout the robot’s body to bring outside images into the cockpit, helping the ARCHAX operator to see the surroundings. The control panel of this robot consists of two joysticks, several pedals and a touch screen. ARCHAX can also be controlled remotely.
ARCHAX can travel at a speed of 10km/h in motion mode and 2km/h in standby mode. In standing mode, ARCHAX can tilt forward up to 20 degrees, in driving mode up to 30 degrees to ensure no toppling.
ARCHAX has 5 movable fingers on each mechanical arm and it can grip various things with a maximum weight of 15kg.
In human form, this robot will have four legs attached to wheels. However, the highlight of this giant machine is its ability to transform. With the touch of a button, the operator can easily increase or decrease the wheelbase of the robot.
